We’ve partnered with the Oxford Union to bring you three conversations between some of our favorite thinkers.

On March 13, Works in Progress will partner with the Oxford Union to bring you three conversations between some of our favorite thinkers.

The first will be Rachel Laudan in conversation with Stian Westlake. Dr. Laudan is the author of the award-winning Cuisine and Empire: Cooking in World History. She was also featured in the second issue of Works in Progress, writing The Daily Grind. Mr. Westlake is an economist, CEO of the Royal Statistical Society, and author of Capitalism without Capital. Their conversation will take place at 2pm GMT. (Zoom)

The second will be Patrick Collison in conversation with Tyler Cowen. Patrick Collison is the CEO of Stripe. Dr. Cowen teaches at George Mason University and blogs at Marginal Revolution. Collison and Dr. Cowen coauthored We Need A New Science of Progress, kicking off the recent progress studies movement. Their conversation will take place at 4pm GMT.  (Zoom)

The third will be Steven Pinker in conversation with Stuart Ritchie. Dr. Pinker is a linguist at Harvard University. He is the author of many books including the forthcoming, Rationality: What It Is, Why It’s Scarce, and How to Get More. Dr. Ritchie is a psychologist at King’s College London and the author of Science Fictions. He was also featured in issue three of Works in Progress, writing The Great Reinforcer. Their conversation will take place at 7pm GMT. (Zoom)
